We live on what is called ‘the water planet’, the name comes from the fact that two-thirds of our planet's surface is covered with water. 97% of the water on the earth’s surface is salty (ocean water). Out of the 3% of freshwater only 1% is usable, the rest being locked in polar icecaps, or deep underground. Fresh water is thus our most valued resource.
